BART

BART has four stations under Market Street between the Embarcadero and Van Ness Avenue and is served by all trains in San Francisco:

Muni Metro

Muni Metro has seven stations under Market Street (4 shared with BART) between the Embarcadero and Castro Street.

K L M T lines serve all stations under Market Street. J N serve all stations between Embarcadero and Van Ness.

Historic Streetcar

F-Market & Wharves streetcar operate on Market Street between the Ferry Building and Castro Street, and make stops approximately every block. The historic streetcar provides service in areas between underground BART and Muni stations and provide an alternative to the crowded and sometimes unreliable Muni Metro.

Buses

Many Muni buses operate along or crosses Market Street to and from other areas in the city. Some operate on Market Street for a long stretch, providing an alternative to F-Market & Wharves streetcars and underground trains for local transportation.
